What degrees do you award?

Attending the East West College of Natural Medicine allows you to earn both a Bachelor of Health Science Degree and a Master of Oriental Medicine Degree at the same time. The degrees are award simultaneously and may not be earned separately.

How long is the program?

If a student attends full time the program takes 3 years and 4 months to complete the required 3000 hours. The program runs year round with three terms each year. Part-time students have up to six years to complete the program.

What are the program entrance requirements?

Students must have at least 60 credits, including general education requirements from an accredited, degree awarding College or University. Additionally students must meet EWCNM's Essential Standard requirements. Full details of all requirements may be viewed at How to Apply on this website.

When do classes begin?

Classes begin in January, May and September.

Where will I complete my clinical internship?

East West College of Natural Medicine operates a full service clinic on the campus. In addition to practicum hours in our campus clinic, senior students are required to participate in one of our Externships programs located at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center or Sarasota Memorial out-patient pain clinic. Both Externship sites are conveniently located in Sarasota.

Will the program prepare me for the NCCAOM certification Exams?

Yes. All graduates of the East West College of Natural Medicine are eligible to sit for the NCCAOM certification exams to obtain certification as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) which includes acupuncture and herbology or the Diplomate of Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.)

Will I learn about Herbal therapies at the East West College?

Yes, East West College of Natural Medicine has a complete Herbal Pharmacy in its clinic. Students are schooled in the use of raw herbal formulas as well as patent herbs. Upon the completion of the EWCNM program, students are eligible to sit for the NCCAOM Certification exam for herbology.

Am I able to Transfer from another OM school to the East West College of Natural Medicine?

How much does it cost to attend?

Please refer to our Tuition & Fees section on this website for detailed cost. In addition to tuition, fees and books, students should consider their variable living expenses when calculating the total cost of attending the East West College of Natural Medicine.

Do you offer Financial Aid?

Yes, the East West College of Natural Medicine offers Federal Financial Aid to those students who qualify. Additional scholarships and grants may also be available.
