East West College of Natural Medicine was founded with the intention of disseminating the philosophy and curative benefits of traditional Chinese medicine to the American public. Our mission at East West College of Natural Medicine involves training accomplished, well-educated professionals in the field of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Time Line 1994-Academy of Chinese Healing Arts (ACHA) founded in Sarasota, Florida. 1995-ACHA expanded to include a building capable of 3,000 sq ft. 1996-ACHA expanded to include an additional 2,500 sq ft 1999-ACHA granted accreditation status by the American Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) 2000- ACHA granted financial aid privileges by the U.S. Department of Education 2001- ACHA Provisional Level I License for College status from the Florida State Commission for Independent Education 2002- ACHA Provisional level II License for College status from the Florida State Commission for Independent Education; ACHA changed its name to East West College of Natural Medicine (EWC) to reflect its educational status and academic goals 2003- EWC granted School of the Year Award by the American Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association; and relocates to a beautiful 14,000 sq ft facility. 2004 EWC expands curriculum to 3,000 hours. 2005 EWC expands hospital externship and initiates sports medicine program; gains approval for students to become licensed in New Mexico; and applies for California Acupuncture Board approval. 2006 - EWCNM accredited by California Board of Acupuncture and New Mexico Board of Acupuncture Future Goals Embarking in this profession can impart a lasting difference |
