Acupuncture Injection Therapy Certification
Florida, as well as several other states, allows injection therapy in the scope of practice of licensed acupuncturists and OM practitioners with completion of an approved 60-hour program. EWCs 60-hour certification program is held once a year and consists of 45 hours of theory and 15 hours of clinical application including supervised practicum. The program is composed of three weekend modules of 20 hours each.
Definition
Acupuncture injection therapy (AIT), also called Biopuncture, is the injection of herbal extracts, homeopathic medicines, nutrients, and other compounds including natural or bio-identical hormones, by hypodermic needle into specific points and sites on the body to prevent and treat disease. AIT may include regenerative therapies.
Course Objectives
This course covers Eastern and Western medical concepts and clinical applications of point injection therapies to treat commonly occurring acute and chronic diseases. At the end of this course, the participant will have accomplished the following:
Be conversant in the concepts and theory of point injection therapies.
Know sterile technique, safety procedures for blood-borne medical wastes, and emergency procedures for potential adverse effects from injection therapy.
Know the diagnostic and clinical skills necessary to perform point injection therapy.
Know the appropriate substances to use for AIT.
Be able to safely use point injections on patients with disease conditions amenable to point injection therapy.
