Biography of Master Chen
Born Yun Xiang Tseng in Fuzhou, a small village in southeast China, as a small boy he saw energy and auras. His talent soon became known in nearby villages. Since ghosts and spirits have no yang energy, according to traditional Chinese thought, every contact with the spirit world sapped his energy. Luckily, at a local Taoist shrine he met the priestess, Master Zhu, who introduced him to the Tao.

In the spring of 1973, the Taoist Master Guo passed through Fuzhou where he stopped to refresh himself at the temple. While he practiced taiqi in the temple yard, the six-year-old Yun Xiang watched as trees several meters away swayed in response to the master's movements. Overwhelmed by what he saw, Yun Tseng ran to Master Guo dropped to his knees and said: “Please take me with you. Teach me what you know.” The bearded priest's eyes shone with their own light, and Yun Tseng knew he'd found his teacher. Then Master Guo touched the boy's head and said “I have been looking for you." Later, he met with Yun Tseng's parents, who were reluctant to send their oldest son so far away, but his mother felt he had a greater destiny beyond the village. Besides, his notoriety as a medium was disruptive to the family, so they let him go to the temple.

Over the next ten years, Yun Xiang Tseng immersed himself in the study of Chinese healing and martial arts at Wudang Mountain under the guidance of Grandmaster Li. When he was sixteen years old, the Grandmaster persuaded him to leave the temple and go to the United States to continue his education and teach others what he learned in China. When he was ordained a Taoist priest, Yun Xiang Tseng took his master's name “Chen” as his spiritual name. He now lives and works in Colorado.

“Mankind and the universe are united as one.
Keeping balance and harmony within ourselves and in
our relationship to the earth is our responsibility.”
