East West College of Natural Medicine is developing a research department under the directorship of Dr. Debao Ye and East West College's research faculty/adjunct committed. EWCNM research committee has four major goals in the near future:

II. Establish and Develop Initial Research Focus – Clinical Outcomes and Systematic Reviews: In 2005 we defined specific outcome monitors to follow stroke patients treated with acupuncture. In cooperation with HealthSouth Rehabilitation, we are collecting outcomes on stroke patients with a goal of organizing date later in 2006. Future studies will include the treatment of migraine headaches with acupuncture.

III. 2008 Randomized, Controlled Pilot Studies – These studies will be conducted in the student clinic on the EWC campus.

IV. 2008 Joint Research – It is our goal to conduct joint research in affiliation with HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center.
